The O'Brien County Community Foundation gave out $119,000 in grants last week, and one project in particular caught the attention of the foundation's advisory board.
The Sioux City Journal reports on the project: a new rope rescue system for the city of Calumet, Iowa.
It was one of nine projects to receive a grant from the foundation, which has given out $1.7 million since 2006.
The project was chosen because of its potential to save lives, according to the foundation's website.
